“Cozy” Boutique Hotel Master Suite

Posted in Cozy Rooms with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on November 6, 2008 by Wanessa Moore

Hi there,

I just finished today another one of my favorite project. I love working with bedrooms, because they are fun and chalenging. specially this one! It  was a big chalenge because of the existing floor plan and furniture layout. We made some dramatic changes with colors, italian sheers panels from Emdee International,  faux finish on the ceiling, cozy sitting area with  chairs and end table from Luna Bella nice white italian bedding from Signoria Firenze, a custom made throw using exclusive  Stacy Age  hand die french sintetic fur,  modern design vanity/desk from Carolina Accents. To add a final touch, custom made accent silk pillow with hand made multi colored rossetes.

I just loved the final results. An empty colorless average bedroom  layout , now it’s a beautiful, elegant and cozy master suite.

Enjoy the pictures and please click on our poll for your favorite item on this design project.

I’ll see you soon

Brazil and Interior Design

Posted in Interior Design Brazil with tags , , , , , , , , , on September 27, 2008 by Wanessa Moore

After so many years here in US, I kind of forgot how many amazing furniture manufacturers we have in Brazil. I was very impressed with the new era in Interior design in South America. All of the new commercial and residential constructions are high end modern designed spaces, with clean, sleek architecture and furniture lines.

My name is Wanessa Moore, I’m a interior designer in Atlanta metro area. Last August I was in my hometown, Goiania for 2 weeks. I was visiting my family , friends and working on a small condo in downtown. It was a small project, but with a lot of work. We were building  custom made cabinets for kitchen, bedroom and creating lighting design plan.  After days and days of working and searching for best deals, I realized how things were different. I was very  impressed with all the new designers and artists . Talented people hiding inside their own house and not sharing their talented work with the rest of the world.

Hand painted lamps, furniture made from recycled demolition wood, ceramic vases, mirror and glass artwork from unknown local artists, modern furniture, architectures and Interior designers displaying their talents at Ambientar Home EXPO . They took an entire residential building of 15th floors to show the latest on the interior design industry. Those are just a little bit of what I have seen there.

One day I went to my uncle’s apartment and I saw this beautiful contemporary oil painting. Very abstract with different colors, texture and details on materials I have never seen it before. I asked my uncle where did you get this artwork? He said It was from his friend Tiago Marques, and he only paints for fun. Days after I was gone, I got an email from the unkown talented Tiago asking if I could help him selling his paintings. So, If you like these  you are going to love the other ones…

Tips for Managing Clutter

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on August 29, 2009 by Wanessa Moore
Do you see yourself like this?

Do you see yourself like this?

Everybody knows it’s not easy to maintain a  household, office or closets clean and neat all the times.  One of my pet peeve is messy and clutter spaces. I love getting at work and finding my things on the right place, without having to spend 5-10 min or even more  looking for a ruler, a glue stick or that nice top you bought it 2 weeks ago. It makes me so  mad and put me into a really upset mood.

For the last few months I notice I am loosing control of the situation. I can’t keep it up with my work at home, specially working full time and Casa Bella Designs . Here some tips I try to incorporate on my daily routines. I do a little bit everyday, even if it’s only a 10 minutes closet organizing or cleaning the mailing on kitchen island will keep not only your space clutter free but your soul as well. You can start questioning yourself, do I really need this or not?

1. THE LOVE IT OR LOSE IT PRINCIPLE: Every item around you represents a choice you made. You either went out or selected it; or it came to you, and you accepted it. Look at that item now with fresh eyes. If you do not know that item to be useful, believe it to be beautiful, or love it for personal reasons, it’s time to get rid of it. In other words, LOVE IT OR LOSE IT. Love what nourishes your dreams and directions, lose what drains or distracts you. Call this process your “Clutter Campaign”.

2. DESIGN your vision of how you want to live and work. What is your ideal environment? Look at where you are now and document your current condition (yes, this means writing it down). Create a clutter campaign workbook. Then write down where you want to be and what budget and time frame you are working in.

3. ELIMINATE your excuses that undermine that vision. Take the time to list the excuses. How do you feel when you are clutter-free? Decide what natural talents and skills will help you get organized – and get assistance for the areas that are difficult for you. What are others doing that is helpful to you?

4. COMMIT your time to take positive action. Think about how much time you spend now looking for things. Then think about how much time getting organized will take – especially if you break projects into bite sized pieces. Now mark the calendar – when are you getting started?

5. SELECT your tools to match your personal organizing style. Think about what you need every day, and arrange these items in a system that works for you. Make sure the tools are in working order and utilize technology to your advantage. Ask yourself this about any item in your life: Is it useful? Is it beautiful? Do you love it?

6. MAINTAIN your success and keep the process flowing, revel in your success. Notice new habits you have developed and what is making it easy for you to maintain those habits. Making organizing and de-cluttering a regular part of your day. Reevaluate the systems you created on a continual basis – make sure they work for you!

7. Create A Support Group. Some people like to do the Clutter Campaign on their own. Others prefer to work as part of a group who share support and encouragement and also hold themselves accountable for staying on focus. Working with friends can even add some fun to the process. If you decide to work as part of a team, remember the four things most successful groups have in common a. A structure that keeps them focused on their goals b. They hold themselves accountable for the promises they make c. They support one another d. They celebrate their successes

8. Practice the Art of Wastebasketry™. As yourself these questions about everything you own, and based on the answer, decide whether or not to keep it.

a. Does it require action?

b. Does it exist in another place or form?

c. Is it recent enough to be useful?

d. Can I identify a specific use for it?

e. Would it be difficult to obtain again?

f. Does it have tax or legal implications?

g. Does anyone else need it?

9. Maintain a Master Project List. List all the projects you are working on, and create a file, folder or holding space for information on each project.

10. The most important question: What is the worst possible thing that would happen if I don’t get organized and/or start a clutter campaign in my life? Creative minds always have more ideas than the physical body can carry out – give yourself a break and permission to get rid of those items and projects that do not meet your life goals.

Let us know how your clutter campaign is going – we would love to hear from you. Happy organizing!

Tomorrow August 29th It’ll be the day to organize my space.  Tonight I am thinking what else can I do to make my work space a clutter free area.

What can you do to make your work space a clutter free area?
